Answers to FAQ’s
We give you a tasting card that you insert into one of our 10 machines and select a 1 oz., 3 oz., or 5 oz. pour of one of our 50 wines. There is always friendly staff behind the wine bar and on the floor to help get you started and answer any questions you may have.
The card acts as an open tab for you. We secure your credit card behind the bar in exchange for a tasting card. It starts at $0 and goes up as you taste. The prices for each pour of each wine are displayed above each pour option, and your balance is displayed each time you insert your card, so there are no hidden costs. When you are ready to close out, bring your card back to the wine bar and one of our wonderful wine liaisons will cash you out and return your credit card.
The wines are priced by 1, 3, or 5 oz. pours. The prices vary based on the bottle sale price. We have wines ranging from $8 a glass and up and almost half of our 50 wines cost less than $2 for a taste. We also have 10% off all wines and cocktails for happy hour from 4pm-6pm. We have something for every taste and budget!
We do not take reservations. We operate like a typical bar with open seating—walk in, seat yourself, have fun. If you’re arriving with a large group it doesn’t hurt to call ahead. We cannot guarantee seating if you call, but we can let you know what the current capacity is like, with the understanding that it could change quickly.
We do not have a wait list because the wait time is unpredictable. We do not turn tables over at the same rate as most restaurants do, but rather invite our guests to linger and enjoy themselves. We are designed as a wine and cocktail lounge with lots of comfy seats and couches that invite our guests to relax and hang out. As a result most of our guests to not leave after eating and choose to remain for some cocktails and wine.
Unfortunately, we do have nights when we are extremely busy and have to limit the amount of people inside our space. We are continuously taking head counts and when we reach our maximum capacity we cannot allow any other patrons to enter until space frees up. There are several reasons for this, one being a fire hazard, two being the quality of the air for occupancy load, and three for the amount of food and drinks our space can handle.
Being a wine and cocktail lounge with self-serve options, we take every precaution to prevent tasting cards from getting into the hands of minors. Part of our Safe and Responsible Self-Serving Policy is not admitting anyone under the age of 21, including children of all ages accompanied by parents or guardians. Although we are fully aware that infants will not access our wine tasting system, it is more difficult to monitor teens and young adults under the age of 21. Rather than try to decide upon an appropriate cut-off age with guardianship, we are strictly adhering to a 21 and over policy.
You may still open a tab at the bar and order drinks there while we hold your credit card at the wine bar. Just like opening a tab at any bar!
The wine bar register is actually part of the software that runs the wine machines and is very different from the other registers used in the kitchen and bar. Since the machines are from Italy, we have not yet been able to sync the software with our other POS systems, so cashing out food and cocktails with the wine tab is not possible.
